USA J1 Summer Work and Travel Program

The USA J-1 Summer Work Travel program also known as the Bridge USA program is a unique cultural exchange opportunity for current university students to experience life in the United States first-hand through summer work experience with American host companies. The program duration is 3 to 4 months with most participants departing for the USA in May and returning in September.  Our host companies are located in a variety of areas to include North and South Carolina, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Ocean City, Maryland to name a few. Summer work opportunities include amusement parks, museums, restaurants, retail stores and more.  To qualify for the J1SWT/Bridge USA program you must be  a full time university student in good academic standing and be between the ages of 18 and 30.

J1 Bridge USA Trainee Hospitality Program

The J-1 Trainee Program is designed for candidates who have already graduated university more than 12 months, and who already have experience in the Hospitality industry. This visa allows young professionals to travel to the United States to receive training in the U.S. Hospitality industry and to enhance current skills, learn new skills and learn about U.S. methodologies and practices. This visa program has a maximum duration of 12 months.

A Trainee must have:

  •  A degree or professional certificate from a post-secondary academic institution and at least one year of prior related work experience in his or her occupational field outside the United States; or
  •  Five years of work experience outside the United States in the occupational field in which they are seeking training.

J1 Bridge USA Intern Hospitality Program

The J-1 Intern program is designed for current students and recent graduates who have little experience in the Hospitality industry. This visa allows you to receive hands-on experience in the U.S. Hospitality industry and to gain exposure to the U.S. culture. The program bridges the gap between formal education and the workplace. This visa is generally used for candidates who have less than 12 months of full time work experience.

Interns must be:

  • Currently enrolled in and pursuing studies at university or certificate-granting post-secondary academic institution; or
  • Graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to their exchange visitor program start date.

Designated host companies have an established Trainee/Internship Training Plan for participants which is designed to offer a well-rounded training and internship experience in their field of study or work.    

Teach USA Program

The Teach USA program is designed for trained/qualified teachers specializing in Mathematics, Science, Special Education and Early Childhood Education. Teachers must be qualified with the relevant teaching degrees and must have completed at least three years of progressive work experience in their field. This opportunity is designed for professionals to teach in the U.S. for up to 3 years. The Teach USA program provides on-the-job exposure to American techniques, methodologies, and expertise, and enhances the participant’s knowledge of American culture and society.  Teach USA offers family relocation packages for eligible participants.

Teach China Program

Our Teach China program allows persons to teach English to students in China. This program is open to professionals across many industries. Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree, to work in China teaching English in the Chinese school system.  Applicants must also obtain the Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification prior to traveling to China to teach. The Teach China program duration is 3 years.

 

H-2B Visa Program

The H-2B seasonal workers program is designed to help US employers fill temporary and short term labor needs with applicants from many countries around the world including Jamaica. Applicants should have a minimum of a high school diploma with at least one year of work experience.  Applicants are able to work on an H2-B visa for a period of up to 9 months.
